Globally BEV demand is growing, prompting companies to compete aggressively in terms of cost and technology. The battery pack contributes to 35 to 45% of the weight and cost of a vehicle based on market trend, and on taking a closer look at cell chemistry, cell design, and battery packs, it is found that there is scope for improvement in terms of packaging at module and pack level.
One of the prime expectations for OEMS is maximized power and energy density which are driven by various parameters. At the Initial phase of design, analyzing these parameters plays an important role in the timeline of an EV development program. This can be enhanced by applying selective analysis methodology combined with knowledge-based engineering within stipulated time. This will help improve performance of the vehicle, leveraging optimized battery pack with appropriate/existing cell chemistry.
