Assessment and qualification
The primary objective of ISO 26262 is to assure the functional safety of a system with electrical/electronic components where in risk reduction and adoption of high safety standard need to be achieved and demonstrated. Thus OEMs and Tier1s want to ensure that the entire product is developed in requirements and recommendation of the functional safety standard.
ISO 26262 requires adoption of adequate safety measures and mechanisms in design. The same needs to be implemented during development and demonstrated during assessment.

Functional Safety Audits
The adoption of the functional safety processes are assessed by performing a process audit and that the right process is adopted throughout
Confirmation review of Safety Artifacts
On completion of the safety deliverables, the same are subjected to review where the review is to ensure correct and complete information are documented within the safety artifacts.
