Revolo is a versatile system, which is compatible across different bus formats. The components of the system include lithium ion batteries, electric motors, a power transmission unit and smart electronic control units. Revolo-enabled buses are also supported with features such Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), mobile phone app for journey planning and ticketing, Wi-fi infotainment etc., providing a superior ride experience that can help encourage faster adoption of public transport. KPIT is currently working with bus manufacturers and partners in India, South East Asia, Africa and South America to bring this technology to market.

KPIT’s first electric bus with this technology was flagged off by the Honourable Indian Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in December 2015. Two such buses are currently operating at the Indian Parliament for its members to experience green and intelligent technology. KPIT won the "Promising Transport Innovation Award" at the International Transport Forum (ITF) 2016 Summit in Leipzig, Germany for its electric bus technology - Revolo.
