About Higher Education Initiative (HEI)

KPIT’s Higher Education Initiative (HEI) is to encourage KPIT Full Time Employees (FTE) for continuing education, leading to Master’s Degree from reputed Indian and Overseas Universities. This is to enable employees to acquire higher professional knowledge in areas of their interest and/or those that align with the growing business needs of the organization, including Product Engineering, Information Technology, and Management education and associated fields.

Currently, we have collaborated with Coventry University (UK) for two programs, namely

M.Tech. in Automotive Electronics

Automotive Dynamics

The aim of this module is to give an overview of the fundamental theories relating to vehicle dynamics of four wheeled ground vehicles.
The module will work from the ground up looking into the role of tyres and suspensions and the impact they have on the vehicle respond. The key areas considered in this module in terms of the vehicle response will focus on the areas of ride and lateral response (handling). The module will discuss fundamental theories as well as basic models to ascertain the typical system responses and give an overview of how design criteria need to be managed in a vehicle set-up.

Linear Control Engineering

Linear Control Engineering serves to provide an introduction to the underlying control system design tools
which support aspects of Control Engineering encountered throughout the Programme.

Embedded Systems Programming

The module aims to provide students with practical experience in the programming of real-time embedded
systems including analysis, design and implementation of appropriate computer programs. Analysis and design will be founded on object-oriented (OO) concepts and use of the Unified Modelling Language (UML). Programs will be implemented on a microprocessor system in an appropriate programming language. The module is intended for students with some programming experience (ideally any of C, C++, Java or similar). There will be a substantial hands-on content involving the programming of a microcontroller and incorporating suitable software tools.

Advanced Automotive Electronics

This module aims to provide advanced knowledge and skills of electronics necessary for students to automotive industry.
This module covers the sensor and measurement theory, communication and informatic technologies, architecture of electrical and electronics systems used in modern vehicles. The overall aim of the module is to provide students a focused interdisciplinary knowledge that encompasses important elements including sensors and actuators developed for measurement and control of modern vehicles, autonomous systems for environment awareness, CAN bus for fault diagnoses and in-vehicle data communication, Electromagnetic Compatibility and Electronic systems reliability.
Multisim simulations are adopted to help students to comprehend the teaching contents and to design basic measurement systems. The simulation including the analysis of characteristics of sensors and measurement systems, noise cancellation of signal, Analog-to-digital conversion. Assessment requires students to apply the concepts and knowledge to design a real measurement project.

Education and Competency Development (ECoDe)- ‘Unlocking the Human Capital Code’

KPIT believes in investing in human capital, an element that defines the organization’s veracity and versatility within the business sphere. Industry aligned applied education model helps define a blueprint to provide high-quality education and pedagogy to discerning employees through initiatives marshaled by the ECoDe unit. Blessed with a skill-variant talent pool across niche technology and business areas, KPIT has adopted a unique three-phase approach that brings in a fresh perspective towards Education & Competency development.The five business critical initiatives abridged under ECoDe are:


Through strategic Industry – academia-based partnerships with 20 premier institutions across India, our Program for Academic Collaboration and Engagement (PACE) initiative believes in the adage of “catch them young,” by attracting quality talent from campuses to associate with brand KPIT. This is done by drafting industry relevant courses and extensive training of 90+ faculty members (from these partner institutes) under this industry-academia model. Every student will undergo KPIT offered elective while they are in their final semester to make them industry and KPIT Ready.

ECoDe Genesis

The objective of this program is to make all the Graduate Engineering Trainees (GET) & Graduate Non-Engineering Trainees (GNET) project ready and aligned to different practices of SBUs. This is a mandatory 8-10 weeks in house training program that fresh engineer will undergo. The whole program is devised on Problem/Project based learning and taught by respective Academies and practicing engineers.

ECoDe Kaizen

To cater to the prerogative of lifelong learning which is the need of the hour, this role-based certification program looks at streamlining SBU practices with certification and prowess honing skills across Technology, Project Management, Domains, Processes, Soft Skills, and Leadership Development for employees at various experience levels. This allows them to move on to the next level in their career paths.

ECoDe Leadership Development Institute

Developing professional skills at multiple stages of career is a critical need of business leaders today. The KPIT Leadership Institute focuses on developing five core competencies – Communication Excellence, Professional Excellence, People Leadership, Client Centricity, and Personal Excellence for employees at various stages of the career. Identifying the leaders of tomorrow from multiple grades of employees, calls for a specially devised program that cover the above competencies through blended learning, coaching, mentoring & action learning projects. . Based upon a multi-tiered pyramid model, LDP operates on multiple sub-modules owned exclusively by the Executive Leadership Team and Members of the Board, fortifying potential candidates towards accelerated career augmentation.


Project Management is one of the critical functions of any organization which ensures on-time, in-budget, in-quality deliveries, at the same time meeting and exceeding customer expectations. Keeping this goal in mind ECoDe team came up with a Project and Program Management Competency Development (PMDP) program for associates who are currently playing the role of Project Lead, Project Manager, Sr. Project Manager and Program Manager. The PMDP framework is well aligned with the international standard such as PMI PMP®. Programs are classified as per the grades and are called Foundation, Silver, Gold, and Diamond. These programs are being developed in collaboration with IIM’s & top business schools.

In addition to the above, unique programs on coaching, mentoring through the inner circle of subject matter specialists and distinguished Speaker Series, (both internal and external from varied fields) are conducted to provide a window to the outside world and help us keep up with industry innovations and developments.

Albot, Ramkumar lead players list at KPIT – MSLTA ATP Challenger from November 17-24, 2018

Mumbai, November 15 : Moldavian Radu Albot, Indian Davis Cuppers, Ramkumar Ramanathan, Prajnesh Gunneswaran will be leading a strong list of International players at the India’s longest running ATP challenger the $50000 + Hospitality KPIT MSLTA ATP Challenger organized by MSLTA and PMDTA will be played at the Mhalunge-Balewadi Tennis Complex in the city from November 17- 24, 2018.

The tournament which is being played for the fifth consecutive year will see all the top Indian names apart from players from over 20 countries make up a strong that line up.

Mr. Kishor Patil President of PMDTA and Chairman of the organizing committee and MD of KPIT said in a release “I’m happy that our tournament which is being held for the fifth year-in-the-row has helped Indian players move up to the newer heights and helped to build on their careers in tennis, I’m happy that we have been able to achieve a fair success with our aim to promote Indian tennis players and Asian players through the event.”

Over the last four years our winners have moved into the top 100 club with their wins here, We hope this year too this event will help the winner to move into the coveted Top-100 bracket,“ Mr. Patil added.

Mr. Sunder Iyer Hon Sec of MSLTA said; “The KPIT MSLTA Challenger has become popular worldwide and bigger and better players are participating regularly making the event stronger every year. The cut-off this year is at a high of 270 which makes it a very strong Challenger at this level. Our Challengers Consistency on the ATP Challenger calender has won us accolades from ATP too, we are happy that now there are two more challengers in India one in Bengaluru and Chennai and it was the need of the hour for our Indian players. We expect at least 8-10 players from India to make it to ATP draws in the main and qualifying draw which in turn will provide them an opportunity to compete at a world class level and that too on the home turf”.

Andrei Kornilov has been nominated ATP Supervisor for the event, while Nitin Kannanwar has been appointed as the ATP Referee.

The qualifying round will be played on November 17 and 18 followed by the main draws which begins on November 19. The semifinals and doubles final is scheduled for Friday, 23 November, while the Finals will be played on Saturday 24 November.

The winner of the KPIT Men’s Challenger will get $7,200 (Rs 5,25,000) and gain 80 ATP points, while the runners up will get $4,053 (Rs. 2,95,000) and 55 ATP points.

Apart from the tournament proper, the event adds up a host of tennis festive activities for all segments.
